This is the band The Brilliant Green.
I'm not finished with it but I will eventually.
The image is a little pixelated, I'll try to fix it. 9"X 12"
update: not real update, just bigger pic. Easier to see. And scanner cropped off the guys hat. :(

I love the detail and the textures you've put into this. I'd love to see what the scanner (?) stole from the real drawing though. This is awesome! :heart:

Actually, I want to finish it. At least her body and hands. There is this gallery thing this april at my college that I want to put this drawing in.

its funny cuz i know this band. im from japan so ive heard of them. i recall hearing some of their music during summer vacation. i also like some of tommy february's (singer of brilliant green as a solo artist) songs as well, very 80s. but your work is great. ive rarely done portraits, you seem to be very good at it. i like this one because its sometimes even nicer when part of work is done. you know what i mean, it isnt done, but it still looks great. unless you intended this to be like this.

Thanks for the comment. I was thinking of finishing the whole thing but because I still haven't done anything with it for eight months, having part of it unfinished it makes it more interesting. I just wish their was a way to remove the stain on the bottom of the paper. The first day I work on it, I was drinking coca-cola. Now, I have learned my lesson. :sniff:

i know what you mean about stains and smudges. thats one reason why im not too happy about working with pencils sometimes, like the classes im taking right now are all about using pencils, since its more of just drafting. and i keep leaving smudges from my hand. but i saw the gotenks, its good man. better than a lot of the anime drawings ive seen around here. theyre good, but not too defined in terms of proportion. its really difficult to capture the essense of manga style, took me awhile to do that, but since i grew up with it, it wasnt that hard. opposed to this friend of mine whos grown up with marvel and dvd style, its hard for him to draw manga style since its so different.

I think from the amount of time I have spent doing this, which is a long time ago, would be around two weeks. I would have finished if I had the actual picture instead of using the digital picture. I wouldn't have to keep looking up at the screen and down at my paper, making my neck hurt so much.
